“There’s one word to describe Teacher Anna – SUPER,” says May Bansil, grandmother of one of the former’s pre-school pupils, Sebastian Miguel Limbo.
“My grandson only knew the alphabet when he started school. He graduated second honor. He passed the entrance exam of St. Rita College with above average grade without reviewing. His self-confidence was developed here at the Kapatiran’s school, Kindling Kids’ Functional Intelligences (KKFI).”
Sebastian, now a Grade 1 student, continues to excel in his new school.
Anna Trisha Manguera, a former KKFI student and now a Grade 2 student of Assumption College, describes Teacher Anna as, “magaling at mabait.” She further says that she is thankful to teacher Anna because she learned a lot.
Margelyn “Anna” Aguiran-Guzon is outgoing teacher of Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation Inc.’s (KKFI) Child Development Center.
Like a dedicated mentor that she is, she always prepared her lessons well ahead of time. Hence, her work extends far beyond the usual office hours.
She is known to handle kids well in class and has this uncanny ability to captivate their attention. She also mentors volunteer-teachers on how to facilitate classes.
“Hindi ako binigyan ng sakit ng ulo ni Teacher Anna,” says Rexan Dayao, KKFI Program Director and the immediate superior of Anna. “Mahihirapan tayong kumuha ng kapalit niya.”
On my part, I have known Teacher Anna since she started in KKFI in June 2004. She is one in my circle of friends in KKFI. She is very generous and understanding.
Anna is also well-known as the mother of Shalom, one of “KKFI babies.”
Danilo Tangonan, Seminar House Liaison Officer, describes her as “mabait, friendly and approachable.”
Anna describes her days at KKFI as “happy” despite the hardships.
“Kahit nakakapagod fulfilling kasi ginawa ko ang best ko,” she says.
Moving up ceremonies are her most memorable moments in KKFI. “I am very happy to see the children move up but saddened because I will no longer see the preparatory students.”
During her send-off party yesterday, July 4, 2016, Teacher Anna could not help but be teary-eyed. She said she is happy and sad at the same time at her imminent departure to Hawaii to join her husband.
She said she is happy since she and Shalom will soon be reunited with her husband, Elmer, but sad to leave her comfort zone, the KKFI Compound.
Yes, Teacher Anna will be leaving soon for the good, ol’ USA but she promised to keep in touch through social media.
She said she is thankful to KKFI for the financial stability it provided to her family in the past 12 years and for honing her teaching skills.
Indeed, in KKFI, she became a model teacher, well-loved by students, parents and co-workers.
